A welcome to visitors

Despite its landmark status, many people pass St. George's on the A6 without discovering the rich architectural and spiritual heritage of the building. Even so, many hundreds of people visit St. George's every year, and leave richer for the experience.

St. George's is a working church, an active worshipping community and an architectural masterpiece. The building is of considerable historical interest, and is an important part of the local community, at which it has been at the centre for over a century. The worshipping community is vibrant and diverse, comprises people of all ages and backgrounds, and features in particular a tradition of high quality choral and organ music.

We aim to provide a warm welcome to all visitors; please do join us, either for worship, for one of the many activities that take place throughout the year, or just to have a look around. You will find that it really is worth the trip.
