CUB SCOUTS
We meet every Friday night during school term beginning at 7.15 p.m. and ending at 8.45 p.m.
Our weekly programme consists of two types of activity. The first type of activity is playing sports and games. This is with the aim of showing the value of working as a team and the value of individuality.
The second type of activity is based around achieving badges. The Cub Scout must achieve a level of proficiency at the various activities.
During the year we go camping twice.
There is a summer camp which is held in July and a challenge camp held in September. At the challenge camp the Cub Scouts get a flavour of some of the activities that they will do in the Scouts.
We are always in need of volunteers to help and the quality of the activities undertaken is dependent on the number of leaders available to help.
Our leader is known as Akela (The Chief Wolf) which is a strange idea in our modern world but his real name is Barrie Charles Bates.
