The Church Guardians
The Church Guardians group was formed so that the St George's could be opened on days when the Verger was not on duty.
Some of the Guardians come in on their own, some come in pairs and some help with the cleaning of the church. All are ready to greet visitors and tell them something about the church. We are always pleased when we have some visitors. There are people who once lived in the area or perhaps were baptised or married here. Others might say “I must have passed this church hundreds of times, but I’ve never been in.”
We hope that all our visitors are made to feel very welcome. We certainly enjoy meeting them.
As we are now only a very small group, we can only provide cover on Tuesday mornings between 10am and 12 noon. New Guardians would be very welcome.
